Sky Plus - Sit Back and View Sky TV Programmes, Record Them Too
Image via Wikipedia
The Sky+ digi box is equipped with enhancing features which are slated to give you a better and comfortable TV viewing experience which you are definitely going to enjoy in the coming days. Well, the digibox allows you to record almost 40 hours of quality TV at a simple touch of a button along with a Series Link feature which records all the episodes of a series which you so very religiously follow. In case you have been truly busy over the week and have missed a couple of your favorite programmes, you can always catch up on them with Sky Anytime - so do stay tuned.
Meanwhile the most annoying thing which could happen when you watch TV shows is the ringing of the door bell or the phone....most disturbing and most irritating when they do occur. But with Sky Plus, you can attend to them happily and calmly as you can always pause and rewind Live TV. Moreover, you can even watch a particular scene as frequently as you wish.
The convenience of Sky+ Box reaches great heights when it allows you to remote record your favorite programme through your mobile or by accessing the sky.com site and stating your preferred recording requirement. With the Bookmark feature, Sky plus box allows you to watch a particular point in the programme time and again. In case you wish to watch a decisive moment of an episode or sporting action at leisure, you could do so by viewing it in slow motion as well through the sky plus box.
For safeguarding your young children from watching unsuitable content for their age, you can opt for parental control which will make you relax and stop worrying what your children watch when you are not around.
Save 65 For Something Thats Sky's Fault
It has recently been alleged that automatic updates sent from Sky to your Sky+ box can inadvertently cause your Sky Plus box to develop a fault, requiring a 65 engineer callout from Sky.
I noticed the problem a few months ago when my sky+ box would suddenly lock up, or start going very slow - especially on playback. The last upgrade that caused the problem also set the box to go into standby mode overnight - presumably as a power saving 'save the planet' thinggie - but it refused to wake up some days (I know how that feels). Even switching off for 10 minutes and rebooting sometimes didn't solve the problem!
Apparently Sky technical support support don't always tell you how the System Fault can be fixed over the phone, and then charge you 65 (about $140.00) for an engineer callout on what is allegedly a known manufacturing problem.
It's worth knowing that if you do have an engineer visit (even a free one) your Sky Plus box is under warranty again for 3 months, so any further callouts in that time are free with no quibbles.
Still, who wants to pay for someone else's fault! Well, there is a little known solution to fixing the problem yourself and saving 65.00 into the bargain.
I have now tried this fix several times on my own - and several friends boxes and I can confirm that it definitely works. http://www.buy-ebook.co.uk/skyrepair.htm
